Friends of Augustine Business Meeting.

On the Saturday evening, after supper, we held an informal business meeting.

We were eager to hear from our Dutch Friends how their meetings and National Organisation operated both on a Provincial and Local level. Likewise they too were interested in our operations in the same areas. We were effectively comparing how we had moved on. In the ensuing discussion we found many similarities between us but also some fundamental differences in the way we are organised but still very much of one mind and heart on the way to God.

Our Dutch Friends gave us some useful and practical material: Meeting Handbook, History and Contacts, Legal Statutes for us to use and discuss at our meetings back at Clare Priory if we so wished. We will discuss these at our next monthly meeting in Clare on 29th October. Both we and the Dutch agreed we all had benefitted greatly from this weekend together, mutual encouragement and pointers for the way forward. We agreed we should repeat a joint meeting again, possibly next year.
